Project Manager

Title: Project Manager
Reports to: President & Vice President

Skills:
Project Manager must possess skills in planning, problem solving, goal setting, and time management. The Project Manager is to be aware of group dynamics and team building. He/she needs to possess a good eye for detail and to be able to analyze data. He/she should possess a high level of oral and written communication skills in order to keep all team members and other interested parties informed of the progress of the project. He/she needs to be organized, efficient, and priority focused.

Job Description:
Project Manager must control the time, cost and quality of their construction projects, from commercial and industrial to retail projects. They plan and coordinate all aspects of the construction process, including hiring contractors and working with engineers, architects, owners and vendors. A Project Manager will oversee multiple construction projects at any given time. An understanding of the construction business and the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment are important for career success.

Responsibilities:
A Project Manager should be able to work closely with the project team from the bidding stage through project completion.
• Issues/Manage ITB’s to subcontractors
• Review scopes with each trade to insure price quality
• Prepare scheduling of different phases based on established deadlines
• Create project proposals/selling project to client
• Negotiate contracts with vendors and contractors
• Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
• Requisition supplies and materials to complete construction projects
• Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress payments
• Confer with superintendent and field personal to monitor worker productivity, building      compliance, and safety compliance
• Resolve problems that arise due to inclement weather, emergencies or any other issue.
• Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and architects to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems
• Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
• Monitor project closeout activities
• Ensure project success and complete client satisfaction

Project Engineer

Title: Project Engineer

Reports to: Project Manager

Skills:

Project Engineer must possess skills in planning, problem solving, goal setting, and time management. The Project Engineer is to be aware of group dynamics and team building. He/she needs to possess a good eye for detail and to be able to analyze data. He/she should possess a high level of oral and written communication skills in order to keep all team members and other interested parties informed of the progress of the project. He/she needs to be organized, efficient, and priority focused.

Job Description:

  • Project Engineer must support the estimating and project management efforts of the company.
  • Develop commercial construction skills that align with Victor Construction’s core values.
  • Work with Project Managers, estimators, and project team as required to deliver seamless construction practices and insure complete customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Education – Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent project experience within the construction industry is a plus.
  • Computer skills – Good Microsoft Office knowledge. Excel, Project and Procore experience is a plus. Digital take off experience is a plus.
  • Communication skills – Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Able to write scope of work proposals as required to estimate and wind projects.
  • Organizational skills – Must be able to organize/oversee project document files, both electronic and hard copies.
  • Motivation – Must be a self-start and be able to work in a fast pace environment. Must be willing to accommodate a flexible work schedule base on customer needs.

Responsibilities:

A Project Engineer should be able to work closely with the project team from the bidding stage through project completion.

  • Solicit subcontractor and vendors as required for project estimates
  • Qualify proposals to ensure a complete scope of work
  • Provide drawing review and quantity take offs
  • Secure permits as required for construction
  • Process RFI’s and distribute information to the project team
  • Process product and shop drawing submittal for the project
  • Support proposal generation and insuring all the necessary information is included to meet project requirements.
  • Communicate project/customer needs internally to insure we are delivering a superior construction approach
  • Every team member participates in the Sales and Marketing efforts of the company. We all represent the brand and are responsible for promoting it
  • Ensure that Victor Construction is being represented at the highest standards in every aspect of the company
  • Update senior management as needed to communicate the needs and success of the project

Training:

Victor Construction will provide commercial construction training from industry leaders that includes:

  • Schematic Design and Budgeting
  • Construction
  • Project Closeout

Superintendent

Title: Superintendent

Reports to:  Project Manager

Skills:

Superintendent must possess skills in planning, problem solving, goal setting, and time management. The Superintendent is to be aware of group dynamics and team building. He/she needs to possess a good eye for detail and to be able to analyze data. He/she should possess a high level of oral and written communication skills in order to keep all team members and other interested parties informed of the progress of the project. He/she needs to be organized, efficient, and priority focused.

Job Description:

Work in collaboration with the President, V.P., and Project Manager to achieve project goals through effective safety, scheduling, cost control, documentation, quality and any other areas that affect the successful completion of projects. Support and encourage individual technical and behavioral development, ensuring business results. Assist in developing and implementing plans for field promotions, training and other means to upgrade supervisory capabilities.

Responsibilities:

A Superintendent should be able to work closely with the project team from the project start through project completion.

  • Responsible for ensuring that a safe workplace remains the top priority by partnering with V.P. to develop/support policies, procedures and practices for establishing a safe workplace.
  • Monitor and assist with field productivity, cost control and scheduling to ensure accurate and updated construction schedules and plans for Victor Construction and subcontractors
  • Monitor field overtime and labor costs to work toward optimum productivity and cost efficiency. Work with Project Manager to address cost concerns.
  • Visit assigned job sites on a regular basis and analyze the construction status of projects including Safety, quality control, tool box talks, and schedule.
  • Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.

  • Confer with Project Manager and field personal to monitor worker productivity, building compliance, and safety compliance
