CMK Companies, Chicago The build-out for the Chicago-based CMK Companies headquarters involved the total upgrade of the infrastructure of a six floor, 60,550 square foot post and beam timber structure including the exterior envelope. The tenant space consisted of 8,600 square feet, finished to preserve and utilize the rustic character of the original building and blend in new high-end finishes and technology. Bamboo was used not only for the flooring but also as a ceiling finish in many common areas. Glass partitions, backpainted glass covered walls and ceilings, skylights, and planters for live bamboo stands were incorporated in the design by John Ronan Architects. |
